I was not really looking forward to my birthday this year. Maybe it was the thought of turning 29, maybe it was that I have about a billion other things on my mind, but in any case I didn't have any grand expectations.
But my birthday weekend ended up being filled with everything I love and more. Good food, wine and most importantly spending time with family. The drive to Santa Rosa was beautiful. It was particularly nice riding in the car with Lam. Upon arrival, our night was spent eating delicious food (beginning with lunch), drinking alot of wine, and ending with late night chocolate chip cookies.
Saturday, Lam and I went for a 7.5 mile hike in Pt. Reyes (pictures below). I wish there were hiking trails closer to Sacramento. It was nice to get back to nature. Later that evening, with everyone really tired, Chelle, Eric, Lam and I ventured to The Underwood for a relaxing dinner.
Sunday, Eric made me my absolute favorite weekend breakfast - FRENCH TOAST! It was a great start to a great day.
